Frequently Asked Questions
Scheduling a Session
If you think you would like to work with me, please use the scheduling widget or head over to the Contact Me Page and fill out the form submission to schedule a free phone consultation. We can have a brief phone call to chat about your reason for initiating therapy to ensure we are a good fit and discuss scheduling your first session.
Format of Sessions
I offer in-person sessions in Ventura, California, and virtual/telehealth sessions through a HIPAA-compliant and secure platform.
What will therapy sessions look like?
My approach to therapy is flexible, collaborative, and guided by the hopes and values unique to your life. Sometimes this can look like sharing your story as you navigate through making sense of the loss you experience. For others, it may mean learning specific strategies to address symptoms of anxiety or depression that may be either related to your chronic illness or are negatively impacting your health.
Financial Investment
Insurance Benefits
I am in-network with Cigna/Evernorth. If you have a different insurance provider, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits. I recommend checking with your insurance company to confirm coverage.
Private Pay - Investing in Your Well-Being
Therapy is an investment in your emotional, mental, and physical well-being. Prioritizing your health now can create lasting change that impacts every area of your life.
Initial Intake Sessions (75 minutes): $225
Standard Follow-up Sessions (50 minutes): $180
Extended Follow-up Sessions (90 minutes): $270
I understand that therapy is a financial commitment, and I’m here to discuss any concerns you may have about the investment in your care. Together, we can explore how therapy can fit into your life in a sustainable way.
Why Private Pay?
Paying privately for therapy offers flexibility and privacy that insurance often cannot:
No mental health diagnosis required to begin treatment
Full confidentiality—no shared records with insurance companies
Freedom to focus on your unique goals without session limits or restrictions
Cancellation Policy
Life happens, and I understand that plans can change. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed appointments without prior notice will be charged the full session fee.
Areas Served
I provide psychotherapy services to Ventura, Oxnard, Woodland Hills, and surrounding areas. I also provide telehealth services for those in California outside of the surrounding area.
Notice of Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare service, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
